In The Beginning

This is my first post and I would like to thank you in advance for your time. Like all my websites this is a continuing experiment.
I am going to write on a daily basis about what I have done for the day and what I will do in the future.
Let’s start this exercise.
I woke up at 10:30 am, got a coffee and proceeded to work on my boss’ website. He has a website controlled by MAWebcenters. It is such a time consuming ordeal.
He has told me it cost him 50 a month just to have the website through them, which personally I think is a rip-off. He only has 500MB of disk space but unlimited bandwidth. you can only really use their templates which are all based on tables, yes tables not divs but tables. I talked to him yesterday and he wanted me to make the website so he could change things himself, sounds like a rip-off. It’s pretty stupid to make your website with tables seeing as the w3c is not going to support tables in the future.
Anyways I used a template, which means I had to change the layout. After I got done changing the layout to my needs I went to their ecommerce page and noticed all my catalog items and catagories went missing. to make a long story short they have to reload to a previous time and all the work I did today is for nothing.
My view on MAWebcenters hosting is that it seems to not have been updated since 1999. I cannot use php or any server side programming on the website, their is no ftp service, they have databases you can use, but under very controlled environment. When I say controlled environment I mean it makes phpmyadmin look like it should be 100 years in the future.
I guess my boss got suckered into it back in 2003. He’s locked in. I would feel bad for him but he is my boss. Hahahahahaha.
