How to get rid of the Golden Casino Mail notifier

In this post I will tell you how to uninstall the Golden Casino Mail Notifier. It’s one of the stupidest things golden casino has come up with and you have to follow these simple steps to remove it permanently.

  1. Go to your start menu and click “run”.
  2. enter “regedit” in the open box and click OK.
  3. click edit and select find from the drop-down menu, a panel should open up enter in the text field “gcnotifier” and press find next.
  4. You will see on your right the location address to “gcnotifier.exe”. You can either write this down or open up your hard drive from the start menu and follow the path that is in your regedit screen as stated below. Note: ” you must have ‘hidden folders shown’ in your folder options and be the administative user for Windows XP.”
  5. Go to your start menu and click “My Computer”.
  6. Now follow the path to “gcnotifier.exe”.
  7. Right click on “gcnotifier” icon and click delete.
  8. Now go back to regedit and right click on “gcnotifier.exe” and click delete.
  9. You have now successfully uninstalled this stupid application.

After searching high and low for something like this and seeing all the answers that did not work I decided to write my own. I hope this helps someone. Golden Casino might be cool to some people, but when they make an application that doesn’t easily uninstall itself. That is not cool.

Editors note 12/19/2007: This only gets rid of Golden Casino Mail after you uninstall Golden Casino. I have called Golden Casinos’ (800) number and asked them how to remove Golden Casino Mail and still use Golden Casino and was told ” Golden Casino Mail is part of the application and cannot be removed “.

Omg! I didn’t double check my spelling, forgive me. Hope you understand what it is i’m trying to explain.

  9. me says:

Don’t worry about the spelling. Think of your computer as an electronic filing cabinet with folders within folders and files in those folders. path being c:\whatever shows up when you search in regedit. If you can explain in more detail, I would be glad to help.

Easy Steps on ” how I removed Golden Casino Notifier “.

    1. Left click on the ” Start Menu ”
    2. Click on ” RUN… ” from the drop down menu
    3. Write the word : ” msconfig ” in the box and press OK
    4. then go to the last tab on the right that says: ” START UP ”
    5. Go down the list and choose the file ” gcnotifier.exe ”
    6. Unselect the box and click on OK
    7. Now it will ask if you want to restart the computer…select yes if you want the GC notifier to be removed right away.

    And that’s it.

P.S. at that restart of your PC it will give you a text telling you that you have changed some settings from windows blah blah blah … Just say ok and click on the box to say that you don’t want this pop up on the next start up.

P.S.S by the way, you can do the same procedure on other application that start up on the launch of your pc. Since I removed 70% of the start up applications, my pc launches 5 x faster.

  15. me says:

@Troy sorry I didn’t get back I’ve been really busy, I approve the comment s because people like to spam websites such as this one. What’s the matter? What I mean by path is c:/whatever/whatever/whatever/gcnotifier.whatever. The path in your c drive.
@Kevin I think you are just changing the boot configuration, when you take out boot time programs (programs at boot) your boot time speed will definitely increase. However, you are not deleting gcnotifier.exe But if it works for you then do it. The steps in the article and in the comments deletes the program from your computer.

  38. Hello Blogger,

First off, I would like to say Thank you to the creator of this blog post. It certainly seems as if it has helped many people and it helped me to get rid of that annoying mailer.

    One note to others…

Be sure to exit or end the Mailer application prior to trying to delete it otherwise you will get an error much like Jeff did.
