Did Ron Paul blow that blimp up all by himself?

by mr. H8ers

the iowa speech gave this blimp all the hot air it needsI am not one for professional politicians, especially republicans. Ron Paul seems to be the underdog with a growing following. Sure a good speech can sway any crowd, but where are the facts on this congressman’s congressional voting record. Well they are right here.

His supporters love him as do most supporters of politicians, but after looking at his voting record, IĀ felt a little confused.

When he is not voting in congress some of his decision when he does vote are pretty unreal.

  • Voted no on - Vote 18: H R 2: This bill would increase the federal minimum wage from $5.15 an hour to $7.25 an hour over two years.
  • Voted no on - Vote 15: H R 1: This bill would implement many of the remaining recommendations proposed by the 9/11 Commission in 2004. The almost 300-page bill amends the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to give faster and more efficient funding to first responders.
  • Voted no on - Vote 40: H R 6: This bill would repeal tax cuts to oil companies and mandate that they pay a fee to remove oil from the Gulf of Mexico. It would also fund renewable energy programs. The act would repeal a tax break that oil and gas firms received in 2004.
  • Voted no on - Vote 1040: H R 1495: Water Resources Development Act
  • Voted no on - Vote 1000: H R 505: Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act
  • Voted no on - Vote 958: H R 2895: National Affordable Housing Trust Fund Act of 2007

And this is when he is voting in congress. From the looks of it I think he only works two weeks out of every month.

I am not here to burst anyone’s bubble. I am sure you would want your right to an abortion taken away from you. Read my lips, Republican.

6 more reasons to vote for ron paul. have you even read the bills? (if not then go to house.gov)
seriously, thpse are devastating pieces of legislation.

  2. me Says:

oh really, you think so. So I guess Ron Paul, the saint of the republican party, has never voted on devastating legislation. Can You even name any bills that Ron Paul has put before the congress? He seams to vote on a two week basis. Because he is running for the republican presidential candidacy does that give him the right not to perform his duty as a congressman? Wouldn’t you want to give up your congressional seat so you could focus on running for president? Their was another candidate that sounded a lot like Ron Paul in the 2000 election, but he won the race.

I agree nick. Dr. Paul wants to keep the Feds out of the States business. Clear and simple. These guys can’t find a damn thing on the doc so they resort to twisting the truth…typical

Twisting the truth. Is this twisting the truth http://dneiwert.blogspot.com/2007/11/ron-pauls-record-in-congress.html
or is the truth something that you cannot comprehend?
    how about this website

I was just looking at his congressional record. Follow the staff. Why is it most Ron Paul followers do not believe in his abortion stance? Personally I think he is the lesser of two evils.

Dude… If you don’t agree with Ron Paul so be it. Not everyone thinks we should have limited government and States rights. Maybe you don’t. Thats perfectly fine. But don’t pretend by “exposing” the things that Ron Paul supporters already know you are going to change anybodies mind.

  6. me Says:

john dude. I am not pretending to expose anything. I just want people to be informed on their candidate. Is that a bad thing? Am I a jerk that I like the civil liberties that I have now and I would not want any politician to mess with them. Seriously people listen to yourselves. You are supporting a guy who was a libertarian, decided oh that fight was too tough, became a republican, because that would be easier. I am going to vote for someone that I don’t agree with 100%, if you look at his voting record I bet that 100% would turn to 50%. I may not change anyones mind, but I would like to have people be more informed. I’m just wondering when do I get my pair of blue Nike’s and when are we going to have the Kool-aid.
